sculpture at the
heart of The Americana at Brand pays homage to
Donald Harcourt De Lue, one of the finest artists of
our generation. The sculpture commemorates D-Day,
the turning point in World War II, and personifies the
unbreakable spirit, honor and idealism of the
thousandsof soldiers who fought to liberate Europe.
This heroic and majestic sculpture is the cornerstone
for Rick J. Caruso’s vision of a place that honors the
history of America and celebrates its future. Its
creation brought together old friends and its journey
to The Americana at Brand has been one of discovery,
ingenuity, creativity, and dedication; a story reflective
of the story of our country – of communities coming
together with hope in their hearts to make something
truly great.
